Stones of Spring: What We’re Seeing and Believing in This Season and Next

Exciting yet restrained pops of color via stones like opals and emeralds are what I’m seeing for the spring-to-summer transition. Stacking with just classic diamonds and gold on gold has come and gone for now. So, without further ado, here are some pick-me-up pieces in the stones I’m loving and delighting in seeing making a colorful splash across the industry. It’s just what our accessories repertoire needs right now, as it offers it own source of hope and inspiration for brighter days ahead.

It’s emerald city out there, if you will. One of the latest and greatest trends I’m witnessing is the glowing green gemstone, known to be composed of a variety of Beryl, set in everything from cocktail rings to tennis necklaces. It plays so well with yellow-gold bangles and chains, and is known as a tough, unstoppable, almost-unbreakable stone. So, why not rock emerald, which is also said to soothe, bring success in love, and restore balance?

Bygone is the traditional iridescent opal. I’m seeing jewelry buyers, influencers, and designers embrace the pink opal for its fresh, delicate, playful, candy-like look. Representing spiritual rebirth, the healing pastel stone is sourced from places like Australia and Peru. I’m excited to don the pretty pink with white sundresses and bronzed skin when the weather heats up!

And finally, let’s look at labradorite. Even though, the stone has been trending for a while, it remains a unique stunner for the spectrum of subtle color it delivers. With the ability to conjure otherworldly grays, greens, and blues, the magical and protective find has a past of supposedly being able to put its wearer in touch with their psychic powers. When paired with diamonds and worn in the light, its effect is simply radiant and elegant.
