Harry Winston Launches New York Collection

The history of Harry Winston runs steeply within New York City. Harry Winston, known as the “King of Many Diamonds,” was born in the city to immigrants who opened a jewelry store on the Upper West Side. At the age of 24, Winston opened his first business, The Premier Diamond Company, located at 535 Fifth Avenue. In 1932, he launched the eponymous Harry Winston Inc. in the city where the brand would become a reputable name in the New York City gem trade. Today, it retains its elite status, all while remaining true to its deep New York roots. Fittingly, the brand has recently launched its beautiful New York Collection.

The collection pays homage to Harry Winston’s city with geometrical shapes that mimic Central Park’s landscape, dazzling colors that represent the lights of Times Square, and the City’s skyline and designs that reflect some of New York’s most illustrious institutions and astounding architecture.

This beautiful tribute to New York is comprised of ten sub-collections. Here are some of the standout pieces.

The Manhattan Adornment Necklace contains 144 round sapphires, 64 round orange spessartite garnets, 64 round yellow diamonds carats, and round brilliant and trillion cut diamonds set in platinum.

The Central Park Mosaic Ring represents the colors of the park’s beautiful greens with 3 round and oval-shaped sapphires, 4 round aquamarines, 1 emerald-cut, and 3 round emeralds, and round brilliant diamonds set in platinum.

The City Lights Necklace glimmers with 4 emerald-cut sapphires, 4 round rubies, 2 emerald-cut emeralds, 2 round yellow diamonds, and 204 marquise and round brilliant colorless diamonds set in platinum and 18K yellow gold.

The Cathedral Emerald and Diamond Necklace is the collection’s homage to the City’s iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The Eagle series is inspired by the cast-iron eagles that sit atop many New York buildings, including Grand Central Station. In jewelry form, fancy yellow and colorless diamonds combined to mimic the majestic bird in flight.
