5 Jewelry Trends Spotted at New York Fashion Week SS23

We all love New York Fashion Week…Which quickly turns into Fashion Month as designers continue to showcase iconic fashions in London, Paris, and Milan.

Here are the most stunning jewelry trends spotted on the catwalks of New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2023 (SS23).

Hoop Earrings

The likes of Winnie Harlow and Lila Grace Moss-Hack (Kate Moss’ daughter) modeled the Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2022 Collection during New York Fashion Week. Both were spotted wearing oversized hoops accessorized with bold, streetwear-inspired outfits.

A regular go-to, hoops add glamor to any look. They’ve been going strong for a while now and continue to pop up on the runway. If you want to stay on trend, go for the biggest pair you can find.

Chains

Chain earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and bags were seen all over New York Fashion Week’s SS23 runways, adding a certain edge to any outfit.

Here, a chain necklace perfectly complements this elegant look, adding a “rock chick” edge to the ensemble. If you’re going to try the look at home, be sure to pair your chain with soft, light materials to get the blend of edginess and femininity just right.

Florals

Florals were another common theme on New York Fashion Week’s runways. Mid-September 2022, models graced the runway in bold watercolor floral patterns and embellished sheer dresses that combined elegance and softness with edginess.

One of my favorite looks was Jason Wu’s deep blue floral earrings paired with that mesmerizing dress in a matching blue hue. Stunning!

Oversized Drop Earrings

When aren’t oversized earrings in fashion? They’re commonly seen dangling from the lobes of runway models, like that of this Proenza Schouler model. With a sleek updo and no other jewels, these earrings add just the right amount of drama to the look. They pair perfectly with a puffy oversized skirt, creating a seamless balance for an outfit that pops.

Accessorize with XXL earrings when your outfit is simple and undramatic, or when you’re balancing statement trousers, skirts, or shoes. This will create symmetry and balance, ensuring that your outfit has a certain wow factor.

Décolletage Displays

From Collina Strada to No Sesso, the runway wasn’t short of models displaying dressed-up décolletages. That said, New York Fashion Week kicked off with models walking the runway clad in either black or white tape carefully placed on different areas of the body, including the chest, bikini area, arms, and legs. Things were bound to become more playful from there.

Sheer tops and décolletage embellishments were prevalent on the runways. One look that especially popped out was No Sesso’s extravagant beaded garment.
