Shine Bright like a Diamond: A Stunning New Book

Luxury publishing house Assouline has just released Diamonds: Diamond Stories, its latest coffee table volume in partnership with The Natural Diamond Council (NDC), that tells the story of the world’s most sought-after jewel.

Through stunning images, quotes, and tales from designers, tastemakers, and celebrities, the pages of the book capture the natural beauty and elegance of the diamond in its many forms. Edward Enninful, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue, best sums up the book and the enchanting lure of the jewel in the book’s foreword: “In today’s world, diamonds are as entrenched in luxury, glamour, and aspiration as they have been through history, but as the representations of those ideals are changing, so is the diamond.”

The book is written by British Vogue’s fashion critic Anders Christian Madsen in partnership with Only Natural Diamonds. Diamonds chronicles the discovery of the jewel billions of years ago deep below the earth all the way to present day. Once seen as a symbol of prosperity and wealth, worn mainly by Royals for special events, they are now incorporated by designers in unexpected ways. Diamonds now come in many shapes and colors, taking a more modern approach. Anecdotes from today’s trendsetters such as Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are intertwined with fashion luminaries and the directors from the Natural Diamond Council.

Richa Singh, Managing Director of the Natural Diamond Council in India & the Middle East, said, “Natural diamonds are a timeless embodiment of classical beauty that never go out of style. A piece of jewelry can make you feel so special, like you walked into a room not alone, but with your own 10 thousand. It is a thrilling experience for us to introduce this book which brings out the fascinating nature of the stone. Featuring jewelry designers, fashionistas, and celebrities, this book will be every diamond lover’s favorite, and a great coffee table addition.”

The Natural Diamond Council is on a mission to educate consumers about the history and importance of the natural diamond. “While it is these pop culture diamond moments that are forever etched in our collective memories; out of the spotlight, all around the world, people are having their own diamond moments,” says David Kellie, CEO of the Natural Diamond Council.
