Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2020

Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2020

Trying to create a memorable Mother’s Day experience during the quarantine has many of us perplexed. We are living in unprecedented times, dealing with the drama of COVID-19 and its abrupt upheaval upon our lives. Being quarantined at home means we can’t exactly go shopping at brick and mortar stores (although let’s be honest…we’re all wishing for even a quick trip to a mall at this point).

Most of us are staying indoors by ourselves, or quarantining with our significant others—so we are not likely to even see our mothers this year unless it’s via video chat. A Mother’s Day brunch with mimosas and bouquets of beautiful flowers are on pause for now.

That said, there’s always online gifting, and most mothers can be pretty tricky to shop for. Whether it’s the mom that already has everything, the mom that doesn’t want anything (even though she really does and you just need to know what it is), figuring out  Mother’s Day gift ideas is a yearly challenge.

Here are some gift ideas that your  mom will not only appreciate because it’s Mother’s Day, but because you were extra thoughtful during this crazy time.

Pippa Small’s gold aquamarine bracelet, available at net-a-porter.com

A pair of discreet gold hoops in your armory ensures that even on a jeans-and-T-shirt day you can feel polished on the jewelry front. We love Tiffany’s roman numeral emblazoned Atlas hoops for added elegance.

A classic cashmere crewneck sweater that feels like a hug, which comes in 15 colors.

Tennis bracelets are part of the 80s and 90s nostalgia wave, and delicate tennis bracelets made with smaller diamonds feel fresh, especially when layered with other bracelets for relaxed, elevated style. It’s not about something big and flashy anymore. It’s about everyday bling that feels modern but will never go out of style.

The Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick is an outstanding highlighter for those areas on your face where you want to add a natural ‘glow from within.’ This product will warm up the face and create definition so your mom doesn’t look washed out on-camera during your video chats.

If your mom loves learning new skills to add to her roster, a MasterClass Gift Pass is an excellent idea. Plus, they have currently have a “two for one special” on now, which means that you or another family member can enjoy the gift of knowledge that keeps on giving. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want Vogue magazine’s Anna Wintour to “teach you how to be like a boss?”

This Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock from Philips will ease your mama awake in the morning by mimicking the rising sun through a slow, gentle progression from a barely-there golden glow to a bright, white light, steadfastly streaming no matter what’s happening outside of the window.

Speaking of bed, we imagine that just about every type of mom is spending a little more time than usual in her pajamas right now, so maybe she could use an upgrade to this “buttery soft” pair from Eberjey, described as “insanely comfortable, and wrinkle free,” and great for hanging around at home, which is just about all we’re doing these days.

Whether you choose timeless jewelry or comfortable practical gifts, undoubtedly your mother will surely be delighted with whatever you give to show her how much you care.
