Grammys 2021: The Stars Who Sparkled

Grammys 2021: The Stars Who Sparkled

After being postponed earlier this year, the 63rd Grammy Awards finally went ahead at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.

I always look forward to these kinds of events for their parade of jewelry looks, each more dramatic than the next.

While some stars dressed for comfort as they accepted their awards at home, others graced the red carpet clad in eye-catching designer looks and draped in diamonds. A few really caught my attention.

As usual, I’ve picked a few of my favorite looks!

Lizzo

The three-time Grammy Award winner might not have been nominated this year, but she certainly won my vote for her outstanding accessorizing abilities.

Sporting Bulgari baubles around her neck, wrists, and fingers, Lizzo sparkled in over 267 carats of diamonds. It completed her shimmery pastel gown beautifully.

Harry Styles

Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video…and Best Accessorized. Well, at least one of the best, anyway!

Harry Styles opened the ceremony with a fresh spin on his hit, Watermelon Sugar, wearing head-to-toe Gucci—including a banana necklace, paired with his iconic cross necklace and a myriad of enormous rings.

It really was that Gucci banana necklace that stole the show. Now sold out, the brand’s website touts it as expressing “a message about leaving behind fashion’s old rules” and “portraying this uninhibited freedom of expression.”

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa really stole this year’s Grammys with not one, but three outfits. She first stepped on stage in a glittery magenta gown to perform “Levitating” with DaBaby. This was followed by a lilac oversize blazer paired with magenta boots. And to finish the show, she threw off her blazer to reveal a sequined two-piece set.

But I’m going to focus on the dress she accepted her award in: the intricate, sparkling Versace butterfly gown. You know the one. Lipa glittered from every angle in this mesh and crystal dress complemented with strappy high heels and accessorized with ANANYA and Spinelli Kilcollin Delphinus rings.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé led the Grammy Awards with four wins—and an additional one personally bestowed by me for her bold and beautiful bling.

At this year’s ceremony, the singer showed up in a classic little black dress paired with collarbone-grazing Schiaparelli earrings that brought the outfit to a whole new level.

Worn alone, the dress would have been simply classic. Complemented by her structured, black leather dress, Bey’s oversized drop earrings delivered a memorable, statement look instead.

Megan Thee Stallion

The 26-year-old rapper stepped out in a bright orange strapless gown with a high leg slit by Dolce & Gabbana, accessorized with over 220 karats of Chopard jewels.

“It’s my first time at the Grammys and I just really wanted to pop. I just wanted to look like a Grammy,” Megan told E! at the pre-Grammys red carpet show.

With a statement dress like Megan’s, you don’t want to go over the top with bold jewelry. Instead, it should be complemented with classic diamonds that accentuate the look without stealing its shine, or worse, underwhelming the entire outfit.

Ingrid Andress

The country artist covered up in a layered crystal necklace in place of a shirt beneath her custom-tailored blazer.

She paired the statement piece with Chopard oversized diamond earrings and several rings for an overall sleek and sensual look. It was the perfect blend of classic tailoring with dramatic diamonds.
