All Deco’d Out: My Golden Globes Jewelry Report Is In!

Sorry to say, but I believe the jewels stole the show at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night.

Paying homage to old-Hollywood glamour, many of our favorite red-carpet stunners and nominees opted for classic, Art Décor-inspired pieces (think diamond wreaths, sapphire pendant necklaces, and emerald chokers). Contrasting with simple, but elegant, makeup palettes and bronzed décolletage galore, the evening’s baubles were easy on the eyes, heavy on the carats and worth a second (or third look).

Billy Porter tops the list, oozing unapologetic luxury from head to toe. Balancing out his plumage look, the singer/actor paired a whimsical all-white ensemble with $20 million of Tiffany & Co. designs, including a 40-carat diamond pendant necklace.

Mrs. Jonas (AKA Priyanka Chopra) brought her petunia-pink gown to new heights with a 56-carat Bulgari wreath, worth $1 million. Her side-part mane and draped neckline certainly worked with the diamond-masterpiece to achieve a Grace Kelly vibe.

Scarlett Johannsson complemented her red, plunging Vera Wang number with a total of 120 carats of diamonds. The bombshell’s mélange of brilliance included a Bulgari wreath comprised of a main 4.01-carat round diamond, 81 round diamonds and pavé-set diamonds.

Jennifer Aniston epitomized understated elegance. To match her Dior Haute Couture, she opted for a vintage 1950s Cartier necklace by Fred Leighton. The layered find certainly reinforced her endless ability to pull off subdued glamour.

Triple-threat Jennifer Lopez certainly did not disappoint in a Harry Winston choker that boasted 21 emeralds and 56 diamonds. Designed to delicately graze her neckline and play off her sage green dress, the showstopping creation was worn with an additional, nearly 60 carats of diamonds and emeralds in the form of earrings, bracelets and rings.

Sofia Vergara flaunted oversized hoop earrings with over 180 carats of champagne diamonds set in titanium from notable designer Lorraine Schwartz. They definitely drew attention to the actress’ famous cheekbones.

Zoey Deutch embraced this season’s bright-color trend with a lemon-hued Fendi Couture jumpsuit and over 110 carats of Harry Winston finds. A sapphire cabochon pendant necklace punctuated her deep V neckline, along with matching sapphire and diamond earrings, and a set of sapphire and diamond rings.

If the Golden Globes are a foreshadowing of the dramatic fashion we’ll be seeing on the red carpets this awards season, I can’t wait for what’s to come!
