Chanel: An Iconic Brand

Chanel: An Iconic Brand

One of my all-time favorite brands is Chanel.

This high-end couture and ready-wear fashion house was founded in the early 1900s by the chicest of Mademoiselles, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. The iconic quilted bags and “the little black dress” are just a few items that the House of Chanel is known for.

Chanel’s brand has grown dramatically over the last decade, having introduced fine jewelry and now incorporating high jewelry into their collection.

The Maison’s multi-faceted outlook has garnered worldwide attention. It’s almost impossible to picture the classic brocade Chanel suits and separates without also considering the fabulous jewelry that goes with these signature looks, whether that means long strands of layered pearls or brooches and bracelets bearing the famous double “C” logo.

Coco Chanel’s favorite colors, black, white, and greys, are used throughout Chanel’s line. These neutral colors never go out of style and can be paired with practically anything.

Hailing from the success of their ceramic timepiece in particular, the House of Chanel still resonates amongst fashionistas and those in the fine jewelry world. Chanel is one of the rare brands who manages to consistently retain a high re-sale value, so if you happen to want to sell one of your pieces, know that you will get top dollar for it.

Here are some photos of my favorite Chanel shopping sprees! My most recent purchase is a metal and lambskin cuff and earring set, which I bought on a recent visit to Christie’s. One of my other favorite pieces is this signature gold cuff bracelet.
